A family's story

"For the first time, I felt like someone was really in our corner."

When we lost our apartment, I didn't know where to turn. Horizons gave my kids a classroom that felt like home — and gave me an advocate who helped me find work and our new place. We're still writing the next chapter, but we're writing it together.

Volunteer

Show up for a child this week.

Our volunteers are the heartbeat of every playspace, classroom, and family room. Find a role that fits your time — and changes someone's life.

Playspace Volunteer

2 hrs / week Shelters citywide

Lead play, read books, and build trust with kids in family shelters.
